Climate
JYSK acknowledges that the climate is changing and that our business is contributing to that change. We are working hard to make our facilities more efficient, to transition to renewable electricity, and to phase out fossil fuels in order to rapidly cut our carbon footprint.
JYSK has set greenhouse gas reduction targets for our own business in line with what climate science tells us is required to limit global warming to below 1.5 °C.
JYSK aims to cut in half the greenhouse gas emissions emitted from powering and heating all of our stores, distribution centres, offices, and company owned vehicles by 2030 (from a 2019 baseline).
For several years, we have been working to make our facilities more efficient. For example, we have switched to LED lighting and installed motion sensors in almost all stores, distribution centres and office buildings.
We are putting solar panels up on many of our buildings, and we are exploring other ways to shift to green electricity and carbon neutral heating.
